I'm not being obsessive one little bit - Jan 3rd 2020

Enthused with my success in not screwing up cutting out large blocks of wood, I continue.

I hope to get the floor insulated, the last bit of board done and then I'll see if the seats foul on the new floor.
First job was to modify the swivel seats so they can spin in any direction, at any point on the rails, and slide the full length no matter which direction they face or whether the base is up or down. This involves 15 minutes with spanners, a dremel cutting disc (or 4) and some brute force.

up ended and ready to operate

remove this bit, another bit at the bottom and cut off the tabs hiding under the plastic.

sweep it, clean it, make it nice - you will never see it again

self adhesive backed, 7mm thick and dead easy to trim and fit

Boards back in - screw drivers to locate the bolts holes properly

and... YES!! the seats slide perfectly with just enough room space for vinyl flooring

Time for Campervan Tetris
Another productive day and now I'm ready to start figuring out the exact layout. Campervan Tetris ... mainly sitting in the sitting room (passenger seat) with a mug of tea and a tape measure

heater on, mug in hand, doors shut, and think
My current idea is to have one drawer slide out  the back on runners as the kitchen/larder, the front drawer will slide out for access and the table is in the perfect place for both passenger swivel seats. I'll make a box to cover the whole area with the right hand side as a bed and a 3rd box on top as more storage, along with some kind of racking for clothing and general stuff.
The drawers are 750mm long each, total 1500mm. This means I can have a bed box that only needs to extend by 300mm forwards for a full 900 x 1800 single bed. Futon mattress ordered for £50 from ebay.

Day done, off to the hot tub to chill out, warm up and think.
