Campervan? Assemble?

I had a teacher when I was 13 who did an impression of his wife doing an impression of him putting up shelves which was mainly standing, staring into space with a mug of tea, thinking. Nowadays I truly appreciate his advice "think long, think again, even before you start measuring".

When you have a blank canvas and options only limited by a limited budget it can be a little overwhelming so I spent a few hours measuring and drawing up a reasonably accurate floor pan of the back and made a couple of decisions. First I wanted to keep the remaining middle row [swivel] seat so I can take 2 passengers (part of the summer tour Plan), second I didn't need a built in kitchen pod.

Relatively carefully measured, and to scale as well
Note: after doing the swivel seat mod I gained another 300mm max length

I looked at buying a ready made pull out 2/3 section system for £350
This would be full width

Now in an L shape
After spending loads of time sketching, looking at others' setups and playing campervan Tetris I cam up with a Plan (I love Plans). I would board out the floor with new insulation and use the Pod I'd bought from eBay as drawers

The final version when I realised I could use my existing pod as drawers and build the whole thing including fixings and mattress for under £200
Next to start buying the bits and then get stuck in.

Now, if you've got this far you will realise I'm almost up to date and the updates will now be shorter with many more photos as I get on with the actual build.
